U.S. Advances Corrugated Box Trade Investigations

The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) voted on October 30 to continue trade investigations into certain corrugated die-cut cardboard boxes, including pizza boxes, imported from China, Malaysia and Türkiye.

In its preliminary determinations, the commission found a reasonable indication that imports from the three countries are materially injuring a U.S. industry. Five commissioners voted in favor of the findings, while a sixth did not participate.

The decision allows antidumping investigations involving all three countries and a countervailing duty investigation concerning Türkiye to proceed. It does not establish that dumping or subsidization has occurred, nor does it impose new duties at this stage.
