Last year BillerudKorsnäs and Haver & Boecker published a total of nine sack packaging norms. These norms cover the basics and some of the most critical factors that need to be taken into account when powdered goods are packed. The reactions in the market show that the norms support the work of bulk goods manufacturers. They provide a helpful guideline for determining the optimal packaging process and the perfect sack packaging for products to be filled. BillerudKorsnäs and Haver & Boecker have decided to jointly develop further norms after receiving positive feedback worldwide. The sack packaging norms contain recommendations for the development and use of packaging solutions and processes and define basic standard know-how or standard procedures. They provide orientation for questions that manufacturers of bulk materials are confronted with on a daily basis.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the May 2026 Packaging Papers Monthly report. According to the report, total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in May increased 12% compared to May 2025. They were up 6% when compared to the same 5 months of 2025. The unbleached packaging papers operating rate declined to 89% in May after nearly hitting 93% in April. Shipments of bleached food wrapping were up 5.6% from last May, and up 3.4% year-to-date.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in July increased seven percent compared to July 2019. They were up three percent when compared to the same seven months of 2019. The operating rate was 84.5 percent, up 2.2 points from July 2019 and down 0.7 points year-to-date. Mill inventories at the end of July decreased 1,000 short tons from the previous month and were up 17,000 short tons compared to July 2019.
