HarperCollins U.S. Trade Unveils New Structure

Since being named to the newly created position of CEO of HarperCollins U.S. trade in February, Liate Stehlik has instituted a host of changes to the publisher’s organizational structure. Today, in the most significant reorganization yet under Stehlik, HarperCollins announced that its U.S. trade division will now operate through seven distinct publishing groups: Avon, Dey Street, Harper, HarperCollins Children’s Books, HarperOne, Mariner Books, and Morrow.

The goal of the new structure, which a spokesperson said does not involve any layoffs, is to give the different HarperCollins imprints more of their own identity within the nation’s second largest trade publisher, which has acquired dozens of companies over the years. Today’s announcement is believed to be the final major change in Stehlik’s reorganization efforts.
