People, climate, and nature go hand-in-hand: reflections of COP30

Overview • Q3 2022 reported operating income of $108.6 million; quarterly sales of $1.7 billion • Downward pressure on global lumber market fundamentals and pricing following highs earlier in the year • Reduced Western Canadian operating schedules & European seasonal downtime led to lower shipments • Strong global pulp fundamentals & improved pulp production following capital-related downtime • Shareholder net income of $87.4 million, or $0.71 per share

Higher sales volumes, good cost control and fewer planned maintenance shuts in the first quarter of 2025 offset lower average selling prices when compared to the fourth quarter of 2024 (“Q4 2024”). Underlying EBITDA for the first quarter was €290 million, including a forestry fair value gain of €2 million (Q4 2024: €261 million including a forestry fair value loss of €27 million). In Corrugated Packaging and Flexible Packaging, stronger order books drove higher sales volumes across Mondi’s range of paper grades compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. This was supported by a solid performance in the downstream converting operations. Following selling price declines towards the end of 2024, average selling prices in the first quarter of 2025 were lower than the fourth quarter of 2024. In the last few months, paper price increases have been implemented to largely recover the declines. In Uncoated Fine Paper, market conditions remained muted with lower average selling prices in the quarter when compared to Q4 2024. Profitability was supported by strong cost control.

Third Quarter Highlights: On August 28, 2021 completed the acquisition of sawmill and newsprint assets from certain Canadian subsidiaries of Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. in Ontario and Quebec. *The mills continue to operate as ‘business as usual’ as Management focuses on setting up its back-office functions in North Bay and Toronto. *Q3 results includes only 4 weeks of operating results for the newly acquired operations. *Q3 2021 reported a negative Adjusted EBITDA of $4,736 after adjusting for acquisition related expenses. *Q3 2021 net loss of $13,486 ($0.16 loss per share) includes the expensing of transaction costs. *Lumber markets have rebounded in September and October from the low prices in August.
