Ennis Acquires CFC Print & Mail

Worzalla congratulated the winners of their “Reel It In For Reading” ice fishing competition and announced their $1,500 donation to support the Portage County Literacy Council (PCLC). Worzalla’s donation will go towards PCLC’s one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction programs. The winners of the inaugural Reel It In For Reading ice fishing competition are: First-place winner, Zach Fuller of Iola, won $200 and an additional $100 for being the Worzalla associate with the largest catch. Fuller’s catch, a 103-pound sturgeon caught at Lake Winnebago, measured 71.3 inches. Fuller says that the sturgeon he caught is one of just 15 males over 100 pounds since the 1930s, when data first began being recorded. Second-place winner, Kyle Weeks of Iola, won $150. Third-place winner, James Liebe of Stevens Point, won $100.

In honor of World Refugee Day, Worzalla, an employee-owned book printer specializing in printing high-quality children’s books, cookbooks, and hardcover bestsellers, donated books to the Refugees and Immigrant Support and Empowerment (RISE) program. The local book printer made the donation at CAP Services’, a nonprofit with programming in 5 Wisconsin counties including Portage aimed at transforming people and communities to advance social and economic justice, World Refugee Day event which celebrated Central Wisconsin’s refugee community with cultural performances, storytelling, a potluck, activities and more. “Celebrating World Refugee Day in Central Wisconsin is an opportunity for the community to learn and understand the needs of refugees,” said Patrick Kabangu, Worzalla Associate and Refugee Support Coordinator for CAP Services. “I am grateful for the contribution Worzalla made to our community’s refugees and know families will enjoy reading these books together.”

Transcontinental Inc.'s Media Sector, TC Media, announced the sale of its two Drummondville-based publications, L'Express – Wednesday Edition and L'Express Week-end, as well as their related web properties, to a Canadian corporation of which Mr. Dave Beaunoyer is part of. Mr. Beaunoyer is former general manager at TC Media for this region. The 19 employees of these newspapers are transferred to the acquirer, along with 4 employees from TC Media's production team. The Corporation would like to thank them for their professionalism and wishes them continued success. Furthermore, TC Transcontinental also concluded a multi-year agreement for the printing and distribution of these publications. This transaction is part of the process for the sale of TC Media's local and regional newspapers in Quebec and Ontario, which was made public in a press release issued by Transcontinental Inc. on April 18.
