Suzano Price Increase – US Market

Brazil’s Suzano Papel e Celulose SA will pay Fibria Celulose SA’s shareholders 52.50 reais ($15.92) per share in a merger that will create the world’s largest pulp maker, the companies said in statements on Friday. In August, Phoenix Paper finished a 5M recommissioning project for our Pulp Dryer. The addition of the Pulp Dryer will allow Phoenix Paper to more efficiently operate the back end of the mill, as well as add a secondary product of baled pulp. The project was complex, upgrading former equipment and raising the roof of the building to accommodate the newer standard size of rail cars. The project was completed on time, on budget, with zero injuries. Congratulations to the entire team and our contractors for a job well done!

Verso Corporation announced the appointment of Randy J. Nebel as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Nebel has served as interim President and Chief Executive Officer since October 2020 and has been a member of Verso's Board of Directors since November 2019. "We are pleased that Randy has accepted our offer to transition from the interim role to a permanent position," said Chairman of the Board Sean Erwin. "His more than 40 years of knowledge in the paper and packaging industry, combined with his breadth of executive leadership experience, make him the right choice for this role."
