Georgia-Pacific Invests $150M in Palatka Tissue Mill

Georgia-Pacific is investing approximately $150 million to rebuild a tissue paper machine at its Palatka mill in Florida. Work is already underway, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2028.

Announced on October 28, the project involves replacing paper machine No. 4, which was installed in 1980 and produces tissue for the Angel Soft bath tissue brand.

According to Georgia-Pacific, the rebuild is intended to maintain existing production while strengthening the mill’s manufacturing capabilities. The investment aims to improve safety, equipment reliability, product quality and productivity through updated technologies and safety systems.
