In good news for shoppers, a bump in the cost of consumer goods reversed course in March 2026. Prices for everyday household purchases decreased 0.02% in March 2026 following a 0.19% increase in February and a 0.33% decrease in January. The monthly Numerator Consumer Goods Price Index (CGPI) also indicates that  prices for everyday goods are up 2% compared to March 2025.A similar trend is expected for the comparable categories covered in the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ upcoming Consumer Price Index (CPI) release.

Two thousand twenty four has gotten off on an upward start, with U.S. ad spending rising 4.3% over January 2023, according to just-updated data from Guideline's U.S. Ad Market Tracker. Sequentially, January was the 10th consecutive month to post a gain, signaling an end to the U.S. ad recession beginning with the second quarter of 2023. The momentum continues to come from smaller ad categories, which in aggregate, rose 5.3% over January 2023, which compares with an aggregate gain of 3.7% for the top 10 ad categories.

The DMA Print Council has selected Sarah Burns, Head of Media Solutions at Edit, as its new Deputy Chair. It’s the second consecutive appointment to Deputy Chair that the UK’s leading intelligence body for print media has made from Edit. Burns enters the role with 10 years of experience in print media and a strong focus on creating sustainable print marketing. Speaking about Burns’s appointment, Chair of the DMA Print Council Alistair Ezzy said: “I am pleased to announce that Sarah Burns has joined the Print Council as Deputy Chair. Sarah will bring with her a wealth of knowledge in addition to her unbridled enthusiasm.
