7UP Debuts Lime-Forward Reformulation and Vertical Logo Redesign

Beginning mid-August, Keurig Dr Pepper, owner of the 7UP brand in the United States, is rolling out a reformulated 7UP with new packaging designed to differentiate the brand in the $5 billion lemon-lime category.
The refresh is the “most significant brand evolution in more than 15 years,” the company says. It affects the brand’s four core variants: 7UP Regular, 7UP Zero Sugar, Cherry 7UP, and Cherry 7UP Zero Sugar.

The packaging redesign will affect all package sizes and formats of these variants. It features a vertical logo orientation, bolder colors, more distinctive graphics, and a new “Lime Lemon” designation that signals the reformulated flavor profile. According to the brand, the design was selected from 10 tested concepts and offers what it describes as “a modern take on iconic elements from 7UP’s past.”

“By giving lime the spotlight, we’re rewriting the rules of the lemon lime category,” says Drew Panayiotou, chief marketing and innovation officer at KDP. He positions the move as “transforming a beloved heritage brand into a modern disruptor.”
