Due to continuing cost increases of pulp and other raw materials, Sappi reports that it is increasing its Dye Sublimation and Large Format Inkjet paper prices as from 1 May 2018.
The increase will be five to eight percent for all Dye Sublimation grades and six to nine percent for the Large Format Inkjet papers. The price rise will apply to all European and Overseas markets.
Practical implementation will be discussed by Sappi’s sales team with individual customers over the next weeks. According to the company, the measure is necessary to mitigate continuing margin erosion and ensuring the sustainability of the business.

Statkraft and Norske Skog Skogn have entered into a 3-year industrial power agreement for the supply of approximately 1 TWh (40 MW) during the period 2027–2029 to the company's paper mill in Skogn (Norway). Together with previous contracts, the agreement secures a significant portion of the mill's power supply at competitive terms through 2030. "We are very pleased with this agreement, which will provide the Skogn mill with a stable and substantial power supply at predictable prices going forward. In Central-Norway, power prices are advantageous compared to Southern Norway. The agreement helps secure jobs and the competitiveness of Skogn while also being important for the forestry industry in the region," says Geir Drangsland, CEO of Norske Skog and Chairman of Norske Skog Skogn AS.

The conciliator has asked the parties to state their position on the proposal by 14 April 2022 at 10:00 EEST, which is also the deadline for the settlement proposals for UPM Pulp, UPM Specialty Papers and UPM Raflatac, given earlier by the conciliator. The conciliation for UPM Communication Papers was interrupted last weekend. "Settlement proposals have now been given to four out of five UPM businesses aiming at collective labour agreements. More than half of UPM’s employees affiliated with the Paperworkers’ Union are now covered by settlement proposals", says Jyrki Hollmén, Vice President, Labour Markets at UPM.
The Company recorded third quarter revenue of $870 million, an increase of 29% year over year, primarily driven by higher TiO2 and zircon volumes and higher average selling prices across all products. Revenue from TiO2 sales was $682 million, an increase of 26% driven by a 13% increase in volumes and a 12% increase in average selling prices on both a US dollar and local currency basis. Sequentially, TiO2 volumes declined 10%, at the low end of guidance, and average selling prices increased 4% on a local currency basis or 3% on a US dollar basis. Zircon revenue increased 107% to $116 million driven by an 81% increase in volumes and a 13% increase in average selling prices. Sequentially, zircon volumes declined 14%, due to higher sales from inventory in the second quarter, while average selling prices increased 10%. Revenue from feedstock and other products was $72 million, which represented a 5% decrease, due to no external feedstock sales in the quarter compared to the prior year, partially offset by increased pig iron revenue from higher average selling prices. Net income attributable to Tronox in the third quarter 2021 of $111 million included non-recurring costs primarily related to debt extinguishment totaling $4 million or $0.03 per diluted share.
