INTERFOR CORPORATION announced revised operating plans for the fourth quarter of 2025. Due to persistently weak market conditions and ongoing economic uncertainty, Interfor will further temporarily reduce lumber production across its operations in British Columbia, Ontario, the US Pacific Northwest and the US South. These curtailments are expected to reduce lumber production in the fourth quarter of 2025 by approximately 250 million board feet, or 26%, as compared to the second quarter of 2025, which reflected a more normal operating stance. The curtailment volumes are approximately evenly split between Interfor’s Canadian and U.S. operations.

For more than a century, Rothschild Mill has operated on the Wisconsin River five miles south of Wausau, Wisconsin. From its humble beginnings in 1909, the mill has grown to produce Cougar® and Lynx®, some of the world’s finest printing and publishing papers. Sappi Southern Africa has achieved GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance (FSA) 2020 certification for Pelletin, one of its Lignin products used as an additive in animal feed manufacturing, making it only the second organisation in Africa to attain this prestigious certification. GMP+ is the world’s largest and most rigorous animal feed certification scheme, focused on enabling companies to contribute to safe animal feed throughout the entire production chain, with an emphasis on the need for quality assurance and risk management in the production and trade of animal feed. Sappi’s certification is for the ‘Trade in Feed’ and ‘Production of Feed Additives’ categories, respectively. Pelletin is a technical lignin that primarily functions as a binder in the production of compound animal feeds. It is a natural wood-based product that acts as a natural glue that binds all the feed ingredients and additives together to produce cost-effective compound feed pellets with enhanced durability and strength.
